Teaching and Supervision
I have taught large and small introductory courses in international relations at both the undergraduate and master’s level, as well as a range of master’s seminars. At ANU, I have more recently taught master’s-level survey courses on IR theory and on research design and methods. I have also taught specialized graduate seminars on global pandemics and, in 2025, on the global politics of the (far) right.
I am interested in supervising doctoral projects broadly on historical international relations (chiefly Europe and Asia), historical international security, and the history of international thought. I am especially interested in projects that intersect with of two or more of these areas, perhaps in unexpected ways. If you have a specific doctoral project in mind, and it matches the above or some other aspect of my existing work, please feel free to contact me.
